In this research paper, a spent bleaching clay sample obtained from an edible oil factory in shiraz as an economic adsorbent was studied for its potential use as an adsorbent for the removal of Pb2+ ions from aqueous solutions. This clay was activated by acid and followed by thermal treatment in100 ◦C. The isotherm,kinetic mechanism and the effects of pH, amount of sorbent were investigated.
