A ZnO/Zn2TiO4 nanocomposite was synthesized by a novel sol-gel method. As-prepared powder has Anatase TiO2, Zincite ZnO, and two different Zn(OH)2 phases. Heat treatment at 680°C produced Zn2TiO4 and ZnTiO3 solid solutions beside ZnO. The amount of ZnTiO3 phase decreased as the temperature increased so that it disappeared at 900°C and totally transformed in to Zn2TiO4.
