The study aims to identify the importance of some hemo-biochemical changes as indicators for early diagnosis of ketosis during three stages of postpartum periods in dairy cattle. Twenty post calving dairy cows with ketosis (group I), and clinically healthy (group II) were selected (n=20 each). The cows were placed into 3 stages of period, from 1 to 3 weeks after parturition. Blood samples were collected from the jugular vein of two groups. It was concluded that ketosis cause to significant alteration in some biochemical parameters other than hematological parameters. Significant differences were found in mean haptoglubin (Hp) and serum amyloid A (SAA) concentrations of ketosis in 1 week after calving in comparison with control group (p<0.05). Our results indicated that some serum indices could be successfully applied as indicators of ketosis in post-calving dairy cattle, which may help to reduce the economical losses of dairy industry.
