This paper describes an electromagnetic circuit model which has been used to develop a general computer software. This software can Predict inrush current of transformers with different cores and windings configurations. Nonlinearity of core and hysteresis effect upon the accurate modelling of transformer has been taken into account, therefore a close agreement between the simulation results and measured values have been observed. Such agreement indicates the validity of the proposed method This software can also predict the inrush current of transformer with non-sinusoidal applied voltages. A systematic simulation method and the corresponding computer flow-chart has been given which may be useful for designers of transformers.
