One of the largest solar thermal generation power plants constructed to date is the one installed in California. In this power station, nine plants with a total net electricity capacity of 354 MW are under operation to feed electricity into the grid of the regional utility. They account for over 90% of the world's solar power production. The HCEs (Heat Collection Elements) of this huge power plant employs Mo-A1203 solar selective absorbers. 1 A schematic diagram of a HCE has been shown in figure 1.
