خلاصه مقاله:
This paper seeks to closely investigate women’s role construction in Shakespeare’s comedies and tragedies. The female construction in Shakespeare’s plays ranges a different movement from selfishness, brutality and cunning characters to passionate, highly-revered sense of cleverness and strong side of characters. Typically Shakespeare’s comedies depict females as epitome of intellectuality, embodiment of virtue along with charming disposition. On the contrary, in his tragedies, he has created nightmarish and inferior characters in proportion to depiction of female in his comedies. In comparison to his tragedies, Shakespeare’s comedies manifest a movement from world of conflict into the world of conciliation, in which problems and injustice are resolved. Therefore, I comprehensively seek to find the structure and role of the female construction and how women are shown psychologically then how this above-mentioned movement is happening in his comedies. In this paper, i constrained my research on two or three of Shakespeare’s plays which are more significant in depicting female characters. My main focus in the realm of comedy limits to As you like it and Midsummer night’s dream and in the his tragedies, I focus particularly on Macbeth and king Lear mainly on Hamlet
