خلاصه مقاله:
The present study is an attempt to discover the relationship between Translation Quality Index (TQI) and Error Analysis Method in teaching translation. Teachers are interested in finding the source of errors that will assist them in raising the consciousness of their students and help the students improve their learner status, so they should use TQI, a quantitative-based method of translation quality assessment that measures the number and type of errors found in a text. As a matter of fact, teachers face with various difficulties, because there are no standard criteria for assessing the translation. According to TQI model of Schiaffino and Zearo(2002), it is difficult to improve something if you cannot measure it. This research takes into account all translation quality assessment method of Waddington, Williams, House and Osimo. The finding revealed that, there is a close relationship between error analysis and TQI, because when measuring translation quality, we really measure the various type of errors in the translated text; a good translation is one in which fewer errors are made. It can be concluded that, every teacher as an assessor should be applying the TQI on the micro-level (constituent parts of a text) not on the text as a whole
