خلاصه مقاله:
In this study, the effect of addition of nano-size MgO and amount of hot press pressure on the densification and microstructure of Alumina-Based nanocomposite containing 10% volume nanosize particles is investigate. Samples were sintered at 1650°C for 1 hour, in Argon atmosphere. Two different sintering pressures 20MPa and 30MPa were applied. Among the sintered samples, the samples sintered under 30 MPa exhibited better properties. The results indicate significant increases in mechanical properties with addition nanoscale MgO powder up to 1000ppm; so that the relative density to 99.3%. The SEM micrographs of samples show that MgO nanoparticles inhibited the grain growth of nanocomposite and made the matrix grains smaller. The fracture mode of Al2O3nanoSiC nanocomposites were mainly intragranular fracture.
