خلاصه مقاله:
Objective: Epidemiological evidence shows that the prevalence of patients with comorbidity of diabetes mellitus (DM), in Coronavirus disease ۲۰۱۹ (COVID-۱۹) is remarkable and they have poor prognosis. We aimed to investigate the comorbidity of diabetes and covid-۱۹ in positive Polymerase Chain Reaction people in Yazd. Materials and Methods: This retrospective cohort study included data of ۵۷۰ COVID-۱۹ positive patients, admitted to Shahid Sadoughi Hospital in Yazd, Iran, from February۲۰۱۹ to May ۲۰۲۰, including demographic data and clinical outcome of COVID-۱۹. Study data were analyzed using SPSS software-۲۲ and T-test, Chi-square and a binary logistic regression model were used for modeling. Results: Prevalence of COVID-۱۹ patients with diabetes was ۲۷% and the percentage of male patients was ۶۲.۶%. Additionally, duration of hospitalization significantly higher in diabetic patients (P= ۰.۰۰۴), need to invasive mechanical ventilation in diabetic patients was significantly higher than non-diabetic patients (P˂ ۰.۰۰۱) Conclusion: DM is one of the most important comorbidity with COVID-۱۹ patients and this comorbidity affects the severity of the disease and the outcome of patients.
