خلاصه مقاله:
The recovery of metals and in particular nickel oxide from spent nickel-metal hydride batteries by leaching process is the objective in this research. In pursue of this matter, key parameters on leaching yield in a wide range of variations were investigated. These include the choice of acid used that is H2SO4 versus HNO3, acid concentration(1-6M), leaching time(5-181min) and leaching temperature (313K-353K). The preliminary results indicated that H2SO4 is preferred among the two acids. Based on the results from XRD analysis more than 616 of the nickel oxide content was recovered. The mean nickel oxide particle size is reported 97 nm.
