The use of a recoverably supported iron oxide on SBA-15 support (Fe@SBA-15) as a highly efficient catalyst for the oxidative amidation of economic and readily available aldehydes with primary and secondary amines to their corresponding amides was performed under solvent-free conditions using aqueous hydrogen peroxide as benign oxidant. The supported nanocatalyst was proved to be highly active and reusable under the investigated reaction conditions and could be easily recovered from the reaction mixture and reused at least ten successive runs without any significant loss in activity and no metal leaching was observed during this course.
