TiO2 hybrid nanoparticles as a nanopigment is one of the most important semiconductors which can be used to paints, catalysis, electrochemical cells, efficiently decompose inorganic and organic environmental pollutants and gas sensor applications. Sensitization of the TiO2 nanoparticles to enhance their properties has been an interesting subject in photochemical, biological, environmental and medical applications. Despite considerable efforts devoted to the modification of TiO2 nanoparticles, there is a lack of information about sensitization with bioporphyrin compounds. Here, as a part of the desire to save the environment via green chemistry practices, we report on the synthesis of novel TiO2 hybrid nanoparticles sensitized with organometallic bioporphyrin containing deoxyadenosine chain. The formation of single phase nanoparticles and sensitization process were confirmed by XRD θ–2θ patterns and FTIR spectra. TEM and SEM micrographs indicate the formation of nanoparticles with a particle size of about 20 nm. This study emphasizes on green chemistry and synthesis of nanomaterials through ecofriendly methods to save our planet and its reservoirs for future and next generations.
