The integrated use of digital topography, remotely sensed data and GIS to study lithology and geomorphological parameters were undertaken in Mazou (Mazuo) station parts of Khuzestan province, ZFB southwestern of Iran. In this paper the geomorphological study plays an important role to identify the litholounits. A morphometric analysis of a micro watershed has been carried out using Landsat-7 ETM+ and GIS techniques. Lithological interpretation was carried out in three levels on the Landsat image. The morphometric analysis was extracted in GIS environment. It has been seen that the coarse and radial drainage system in the study area follows topographically high area, plunging of the fold and limestone and dolomite of Asmari formation. The fine to medium, dentritic to subdentritic drainage network in the study area was developed in a homogeneous rock, structural controls, horizontal to subhorizontal bedding and gental slope in Aghajari’s sandstone and Gachsaran formation. This study shows the advantages of the remotely sensed data and GIS techniques to correlate the lithological units with drainage network system. The present study also reveals the application of the DEM to study drainage morphometry.
