In recent years, there has been a growing interest in the use of antioxidant plants for scientific research as well as industrial (pharmaceutical and cosmetic) purposes. The volatile chemicals and extracts of some plants have been studied for theirs antioxidant activities because they inhibit oxidative damage and may consequently prevent inflammatory conditions in many domains, including medicine, nutrition and cosmetics. Lavandula stoechas L. (from Lamiaceae) is perennial evergreen used as a fragrant ornamental plant. It also used as a medicinal plant in different parts of the world. Micronutrients (Zn) have a crucial roles in the nutrition, enzymatic reactions, primary pathwaye in the tolerance of plant coping with biotic and abotic stresses. In order to study the effect of foliar spray of ZnSo4 (0, 1000, 2000 and 3000 mgl-1) on some physiological characteristics of Lavandula stoechas L. plants, a pot experiment was carried out during 2015 -2016 at the Research Greenhouse of Azarbaijan Shahid Madani University. Physiological characteristics (total phenolic, total flavonoids, anthocyanin, Chlorophyll a, b, and carotenoid content) were significantly affected by the application of ZnSo4. Foliar application of ZnSo4 promoted Chlorophyll b content especially at 2000 mgl-1,Chlorophyll a and carotenoid content at 1000 mgl-1. As2well, total phenolic, flavonoids, anthocyanin and essential oil contents were affected with ZnSo4 treatment at 2000 mgl-1. The result showed that foliar application of Zinc had no significant effect on methnolic extract content in Lavandula stoechas. The result obtained reveals that Zinc application had highlighted effects on Physiological Characteristics of Lavandula stoechas L. plants.
