خلاصه مقاله:
In this review, different methods for modeling of fluid-particle systems arepresented. Based on the concentration and the size of the particles, different methodscould be used for modeling of these systems. Two way Eulerian-Eulerian approach isapplicable for dense systems, while one way approach is suitable for dilute phase such asaerosols. This method (E-E) is widely used for industrial modeling. Pure DiscreteElement Method (DEM) are used for modeling of contact dominated particles such assoil motion or discharge of a hopper. Combination of DEM and CFD is a method that iscalled Eulerian –Lagrangian method. This method also can be one, two, three or four waycoupling, based on the interaction between the particles and the fluid. Two commonmethods in this category are DPM (Discrete Phase Modeling) and MPPIC (Multi PhaseParticle In Cell Method). Collision between the particles (hard and soft sphere methods)is an important issue in these modeling. DPM and MPPIC are used for modeling of denseparticulate systems. In dilute phase an example of DEM-CFD is modeling of motion anddeposition of aerosol particles in turbulent flow that is one way coupling. In CFD-DEMmethod the fluid phase could be solved by both the conventional CFD methods or byLattice Boltzmann method that called DEM-LBM. Another method for modeling ofparticulate flow is Direct Numerical Simulation (DNS). The empirical correlations thatare widely used in the previous method, are not necessary in DNS method. In this methodthe size of particle are larger than the fluid mesh. The interaction between fluid phase andparticles are modeled directly. In DNS method, when the conventional CFD methods areused for solving the fluid phase, mesh motion is needed. Thus the dynamic meshalgorithm is necessary for those modeling. In Immerse Boundary Methods (IBM) themodeling are performed on fix Cartesian grid. This is the advantage of this method.
