Introduction and Objectives: Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease in world. One-third of the world s population is thought to be infected with TB. Tuberculosis is a major public health problem in Iran. The purpose of this study was to determine the rate of pulmonary and extra pulmonary of Tuberculosis infection in Yazd Province.Materials and Methods: In this descriptive study, 6624 suspected Tuberculosis patients from 2016 to 2017 referred to the Yazd Nikopoor polyclinic were investigated. The data of each patient including age, sex and laboratory test and results from the files were extracted and analyzed using SPSS18.Result: One hundred fifty one cases were positive for Tuberculosis. The average annual rate of TB was 13.2 cases per 100,000 populations. Eighty five cases (56.3%) were pulmonary TB that 73 cases (91.8%) patients had smear positive and 66 cases (43.7%) were extra pulmonary. Among these patients, 71 cases (47%) were male and 80 (53%) females. Eighty cases (53.6%) were Iranian and 70 cases (46.4%) were Afghan refugees. Although not significant (p> 0.05), the most frequent pulmonary Tuberculosis in Both Iranian (58%) and Afghan (35%) groups was age over the 60 years old (58%, 35% respectively). Conclusion: According to our results the rate of Tuberculosis in Yazd Province is near to the report of WHO (14 cases per 100,000 population for Iran in 2016). Also the prevalence of TB among the Afghan refugee was close to the Iranian group; therefore it needs to monitor more immigrants to Yazd.
