خلاصه مقاله:
Background: Growing and developing are influenced by genetic, social and environmental factors and it s most important and initial phase step is formed of the early life of the fetus and infant. In this sense, Early recognition of developmental disorders is an important goal, and equally important is avoiding misdiagnosing a disorder in a healthy child without pathology. This study aimed to systematically review developmental delay (DD) and investigate the relationship between high-risk pregnancy and the developmental status of infants. Methods: This study was reviewed of literature from 2000 to present. Embase, ISI web of knowledge, ProQuest, Science Direct, Scopus and PubMed central were searched using keywords of high-risk pregnancy , Children , developmental delay published in English. Results: The rate of DD was even higher among children delivered by cesarean section. Maternal age of ≥ 35 years, low maternal and paternal education level, low socioeconomic level, consanguineous marriage, maternal medical disorders during pregnancy and delivery by cesarean section increased the risk of DD.Conclusions: In conclusion, DD can be identified early during well-child visits. In such cases, it is critical for the health of the child and community to screen for possible risk factors, eliminate thecauses when possible, and refer families to rehabilitation services when necessary. Therefore, it is suggested that children born from high-risk pregnancies are given more attention in terms of developmental delay at an earlier age.
