Investigating and Comparing City Energy Supply byTwo Energy Sources, Hydropower Energy and WindEnergy (Case Study: Porto Alegre, Brazil)

Using of renewable energy with the aim of achieving sustainable development is expanding in the world.Two source type of renewable energy are wind energy and hydropower energy. In Brazil, part of thecountry's electricity needs provided through hydropower energy. This type of energy has manyadvantages, but this country has recently encountered problems in the exploitation of hydropowerenergy. In this paper, an attempt has been made to supply the electricity needed by a region in thiscountry, which is currently dependent on hydropower, through wind energy. In this method, the shareof hydropower energy can be reduced to ۳% of the total energy resources.
