Leadership plays a pivotal role in the success of projects, influencing outcomes in dynamic and competitive business environments. This literature review explores the intricate relationship between leadership and project success by synthesizing existing research, theoretical foundations, and empirical evidence. It delves into the theoretical underpinnings of leadership in project management, highlighting styles and behaviors impacting project outcomes. The review emphasizes the importance of effective leadership in fostering team cohesion, conflict management, and goal attainment, offering insights for project managers and organizations striving for excellence. Theoretical foundations encompass transformational, transactional, and situational leadership, providing valuable insights for diverse project scenarios. Leadership styles and behaviors associated with communication, team building, conflict resolution, and decision-making contribute to positive project environments and success. Empirical evidence further reinforces the correlation between leadership competencies and successful project outcomes, emphasizing the measurable impact on metrics, performance, and stakeholder satisfaction. As organizations navigate evolving project landscapes, investing in leadership development becomes imperative.
