چکیده مقاله:

Stability of deep excavation using anchor is one of the most common methods employed in geotechnical engineering practices. Therefore, it is important to investigate the factors influencing the stability and deformation characteristics of such deep excavations. Shear stress parameters of soil and the geometry of the anchor’s set-up and length, have a direct influence on the stability and deformation of these trenches. In this paper, the effect of these factors on the stability and horizontal deformations of a deep trench in Tehran, the capital of Iran, have been presented and discussed. For this purpose, the Geo-slope software has been used to controlling the factor of safety, and the Plaxis-2D package was used to design the system of the stability and investigating deformations of the trench wall. The results of this study show that geotechnical properties of soil and selection of appropriate values of the geometrical parameters of the anchors have significant effects on safe and economic design as well as induced deformations of the trench wall.
