Intersection Research and Challenges in Geoscience and Medical Discipline in Utilizing Imaging Technique: An Overview

The imaging technique is applied broadly in many disciplines including geosciences and medical disciplines. This paper aims to discuss the challenge and intersection of research in both geosciences and medical disciplines especially in utilizing the imaging approaches. There are significant similarities of geosciences and medical disciplines in finding better knowledge about the object inside the body/subsurface via the non-destructive methods. However, the fast technology development in one discipline sometimes is not directly applied in the other disciplines. The overview provided in this paper is expected to give some idea on developing technology cross the border on improving the interpretation or diagnoses.
