The effect of Covid-۱۹ on Nursing

Background and Objective: Covid ۱۹ has resulted into an unbelievable number of deaths in the past ۲ years during its pandemic and has taken a great toll of pressure on world health organizations and health care providers in all the countries involved. To break the transmission chain; measures such as quarantining, self- quarantine, traveling restrictions, adherence to personal hygiene and focusing on identifying high risk and susceptible cases should be taken into consideration. In this regard, hospitals have a crucial role in crisis management but the huge knowledge gap about its real cause, ways of transmission and finding a practical method for the high casualties can lead to further confusion among officials and hospital staff. In this study we try to run you over required methods in taking over the obstacles, solving the problems and to go over some solutions in fighting against this disease; particularly for nurses.Materials and Methods: In this review study, Persian articles with the following key words we taken under survey; Covid ۱۹, nursing and corona. All the included articles came with comprehensive texts; these articles were attained by searching in SID’s information site.Results: Caring in nurse's point of view is an energy inducing process that leads to unity and integrity in reaching to the final goal. They also believe that during working hours; while caring for a patient, the nurse should be ۱۰۰% present both physically on the bedside and mentally focused on the given task. Concepts such as personal safety, structural protection, safety complications and appropriate policy formulation and implementation are among some of the many issues of nurses on the subject of self- preservation while providing care for COVID ۱۹ patients and detailed plans which are mostly focused on health and methods of protection should be designed and demonstrated.Conclusion: High prevalence of corona virus and the absence of any certain treatment or preservation maneuver, high transmissibility and the lack of proper settings and tools can cause general stress and anxiety and be seen as a number of serious challenges for health organizations and policy makers. As Covid ۱۹ has been mostly associated with its high casualty and fatal pandemic; concepts like personal protection, structural protection, safety complications and appropriate policy formulation and implementation are among some of the many issues of nurses on personal protection during patient care, on the other hand increasing the overall knowledge and understanding of this major happening is a must do.
