A review of effective approaches in creating creativity in students

چکیده مقاله:

Creativity is one of the highest and most complex activities of the human mind that education shouldpay attention to. Creativity is not only related to intelligence and thinking, but also to the organizationof one's personality. Free upbringing of a child in a situation where parents have various strong interestscauses creativity in children. Therefore, the issue of raising children and developing their natural talentsis one of the very important issues that should be taken into consideration by educators and parents, andteachers should provide opportunities for the manifestation of creative thought in schools, and studentsshould gradually learn the basic concepts of various sciences in order to Deal with life issues creativelyand change the world around you in a favorable direction. The mental images we give our childrenshape their future. Creativity has an important role in many scientific processes which constitute a largeand complex structure. It is difficult to identify and measure. Students’ creativity can be enhancedthrough specific education programs. The aim of this study was to develop a science, technology,engineering, art, mathematics (STEAM) design process program for teaching ۷th grade middle schoolstudents to enhance their verbal and figural creativity. The study lasted ۱۱ weeks. Pre-test/post-testquasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group was used. Study Group (n = ۳۴) waspresented a teaching approach focused on STEAM education, while the control group (n = ۳۴) wastaught based on the science curriculum and science textbook. Nine different STEAM design activitieswere developed. The data were collected with the Torrance Test of Creative Thinking. The SPSSProgram was used in analyzing the data. At the end of the study, significant differences were determinedin favor of the study group in both verbal and figural creativity. As a result of the study,recommendations for implementation of STEAM design processes were discussed.
