Investigating the role of Maintenance ۴.۰ technological capabilities in improving sustainability performance

Rapid advances in technology and the ongoing trend of Digitization in the past decade have led to major changes in manufacturing systems. On the other hand, maintenance processes, which are considered as integral activities of manufacturing systems, can benefit from the emerging technologies of the Industry ۴.۰ and in this way, increase sustainability of the business. This study aims to determine the key and effective role of Maintenance ۴.۰ technological capabilities on sustainability performance through comprehensive literature review. The results of this study indicates manufacturing organizations can improve productivity and quality, reduce production costs, increase profits and promote sustainability by using digital technologies in maintenance processes.
