The Significance of Comparative Studies for Iranian Designers: A Case Study of China`s culture

These days, cultural design and studies have become important more and more for designers all around the world and also there is no exception for Iranian designers in this regard. Cultural elements are eliminated from products due to globalization and industrialization. Therefore, doing research on other cultures in order to make comparison with Iran`s culture could be a valuable method in this context to enrich Iranian cultural product design. China with a profound history as one of the four big cultures has a great potential as an only alive ancient culture to be probed by Iranian designers. This article is going to find out: important elements of Chinese culture make a brief comparison from one perspective between culture of China and Iran, study examples from Chinese products, and know about Iranian designers’ attitude about Chinese cultural elements through reviewing literatures and survey to figure out why comparative studies are important.
