A Survey of Biomimetic for Structural and Architectural Design

Today, contemporary architecture in the world has changed thanks to construction methods and knowledge in optimizing construction design process. Contemporary architecture tries to combine with other sciences to get inspiration from them to optimize engineering methods. Designers need more developed modern tools and materials can change or create architectural forms in a free style according to the needs of the day based on the targets of global sustainable development. In this article, the biometric and biomimetic methods in the creation of architectural spatial structures in the ۲۱st century have been investigated. This review indicates the interdisciplinary methods related to architecture and construction essential fundamental changes in order to achieve the purpose of sustainable development goals in the field of architecture.
