Back ground: Nose fractures are one of the most common referrals to medical centers. Reduction of nasalfractures is very painful due to the strong facial nerve and controlling the patient's pain and using a properanesthesia diet is very important for the patient's satisfaction. The aim of this study was to compare the effectsof analgesia and side effects of subcutaneous and intravenous ketamine in these patients.Aim: To compare the effects of analgesia and side effects of subcutaneous and intravenous ketamine inpatients for nasal fracture placement.Matherials and Methods: In this study, ۹۲ patients for whom nasal fractures were diagnosed and admitted toFatemi Hospital in Ardabil for nasal package placement were included in the study. Patients were randomlydivided into two groups of ۴۶ patients. One group received subcutaneous ketamine at a dose of ۰.۷ mg / kg andthe other group received intravenous ketamine at a dose of ۰.۳ mg / kg. Patients were compared in terms ofpain, side effects such as nausea, vomiting, hallucinations.Results: The overall mean age of patients was ۲۳.۵۴ with a standard deviation of ۱۹.۸۱. The mean age of theintravenous ketamine group was ۲۲.۵۲ with a standard deviation of ۱۶.۶۶ and the subcutaneous ketaminegroup was ۲۴.۵۶ with a standard deviation of ۱۷.۳۹. There were ۱۹ men and ۲۷ women in the intravenousketamine group and ۲۹ men and ۱۷ women in the subcutaneous ketamine group. The mean pain in intravenousketamine patients was ۵.۱۵ with a median of ۵ and the mean pain in subcutaneous ketamine patients was ۳.۳۲with a median of ۳. (P = ۰.۰۰۲) The overall mean age of patients was ۲۳.۵۴ with a standard deviation of ۱۹.۸۱.The mean age of the intravenous ketamine group was ۲۲.۵۲ with a standard deviation of ۱۶.۶۶
