Background and aim: Chronic and neuropathic pain or pain caused by damage to the nervous system is oneof the most common complaints in patients with covid. Which is associated with sleep disorder, depressionand dysfunction and affects the lives of patients. Considering the importance of the subject, this study wasconducted with the aim of investigating the rate and frequency of side effects of chronic pain and neuropathyin patients who have recovered from covid-۱۹ infection in Razi Rasht Hospital.Material and Methods: This cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on the total number of Covid-۱۹patients referred to Razi Hospital during the first ۲ months of ۱۴۰۰. For eligible patients, a member of theresearch team made a phone call to provide all the information about the study and its benefits. Itscomplications were explained to the patient, and if the patient agreed and consented to participate in thestudy, questions were asked to the patient according to the designed checklist. Then, the patients who hadsymptoms related to neuropathic pain were asked to visit the pain clinic in person for an examination andreceive free treatment after filling out a written informed consent form.Results and conclusion: Most of the patients were female (۵۴%) and in the age group of over ۶۰ years(۳۹.۶%). Of the ۱۳۹ patients studied, ۲۳ (۱۶.۵%) patients had neuropathic pain, and the majority (۵۲.۲%) hadsciatica pain, followed by flank pain, radicular pain, and arm pain, respectively. They were ۳۰.۴%, ۲۱.۷% and۱۳%. There was no significant relationship between neuropathic pain with individual factors, underlyingdisease, vaccine injection and its type. Neuropathic pain, especially sciatica pain, is common in patients whohave recovered from covid, and due to its chronic nature, it is necessary to provide strategies in the care plansof patients for pain management.
