Synthetic cannabis for non cancer pediatric pain : a solution?

Cannabis and cannabinoids pose a unique dilemma to the clinician: on the one hand, there isincreasing public interest fueled by anecdotal positive personal experience and media coverage.On the other hand, there is a striking lack of high-quality evidence to support the use ofcannabis and cannabinoids for pain. The puzzled clinician may also be deterred by the risk foradverse effects, particularly those pertaining to mental health and the cardiovascular system.Nevertheless, in clinical practice, there are some patients who derive considerable benefit fromcannabis or cannabinoids. Adding to the conundrum is the large variability in the composition ofherbal-cannabis preparations with variable routes of delivery.
