IntroductionSalvia officinalis plant is known as a strong anti-radical and antioxidant, in this research, we are looking to find an answer to the question of whether supplementation Can Salvia officinalis plant reduce pain and inflammation in active bodybuilders after an Eccentric Activity session?Methodology:This semi-experimental research was conducted with a pre-test and post-test design in two groups. The statistical population in this research included male bodybuilders in Tehran province. In a targeted manner, ۳۰ people were randomly assigned to two experimental and control groups (۱۵ people in each group). On the first day, blood samples were taken, then the supplement group consumed Salvia officinalis extract for ۱۴ days. After ۱۴ days, blood sampling was done again, and immediately all subjects participated in the extraversion test, then immediately ۲۴ and ۴۸ hours after Blood samples were tested. Due to the normality of data distribution and the homogeneity of variances, analysis of variance with repeated measurements was used to investigate intra- and out-group differences. Findings and results: The results showed that ۱۴ days of Salvia officinalis supplement had a significant effect on pain perception and TNF-alpha (P<۰.۰۵), but it had no effect on creatine kinase, Sargent's jump(p>۰.۰۵). Conclusion: According to the results of the following findings, Salvia officinalis supplement reduces the inflammation caused by exercise, but it has no effect on the performance of athletes.
