چکیده مقاله:

The purpose of this study was to analyze the existential characteristics of human from the viewpoint of existential psychologist Viktor Frankl. The present study was carried out through descriptive-analytic research method and its findings indicated that Frankl has considered three dimensions of physical, mental and spiritual for human existence. According to him, the spiritual dimension is the creator of man’s personality. Self-actualization, getting over oneself and self-perfection are the man’s abilities that activate their existential capacities. In logo therapy, Frankl strives to save man from the biological beliefs and existential vacuum, and to empower and validate them by relying on the transcendental commands of conscience and changing their physical and instinctive viewpoint. In introducing value systems, he teaches man that what they experience in the world, including pleasure, sadness, joy, pain, suffering, love, duty and so on are all the means of achieving the true meaning. Human prosperity in life is also dependent on finding that meaning. While believing in the ultimate end and truthfulness of the Supreme Being, Frankl considers man as the manifestation of that original truth that can give meaning to their capacities and other dimensions under their spiritual character using their innate freedom and the essence of responsibility.
