Interleukin-۱۷A (IL-۱۷A) is a member of the Interleukin-۱۷ family, which belongs to the pro-inflammatory cystine-knot cytokines. Recent studies on the etiology of breast cancer have focused on the role of immunity and inflammation. The pro-inflammatory cytokines IL-۱۷A can medicate cancer-related inflammation. The present study aimed to analyze the mutation in physicochemical properties and structure of the Interleukin-۱۷Agenein developing breast cancer using bioinformatics methods. A total of ۶۰ blood samples were obtained from Iraqi women aged ۲۵ to ۷۵ with breast cancer. Twenty blood samples were obtained from healthy women in the same age range as a control group. Deletion and missense mutations detected by BLAST in samples with breast cancer. The present study determined the physicochemical properties of IL-۱۷A such as hydrophilic nature, alpha-helical and ۳D structure. The results of this study indicated that IL-۱۷Ais considered a marker for a patient with breast cancer. Also, mutations in the IL-۱۷Agene affect the structure and physicochemical properties of the IL-۱۷A protein complex.
