چکیده مقاله:

This article delves into the intricate interplay between social equity, climate justice, and urban contexts, scrutinizing the disproportionate impacts of climate change on vulnerable populations residing within cities. As the ramifications of climate change intensify, it becomes increasingly evident that marginalized communities bear a disproportionate burden of associated risks and vulnerabilities. The primary objective of this article is to illuminate this issue by exploring the myriad socio-economic, environmental, and institutional factors contributing to these disparities. Employing a comprehensive approach that involves in-depth research and analysis of pertinent case studies and scholarly literature, this article accentuates the direct and indirect consequences of climate change on vulnerable populations in urban settings. These consequences encompass a spectrum of dimensions, including health disparities, economic inequities, housing precarity, and restricted access to fundamental resources and services. Moreover, the article delves into the root causes that perpetuate these disparities, such as social exclusion, structural discrimination, and governance inadequacies. In response to the identified challenges, this article also scrutinizes strategies aimed at fostering equity and justice in climate adaptation and mitigation endeavors within urban landscapes. It investigates the pivotal role of community engagement and participation, ensuring the involvement of marginalized groups in decision-making processes. Additionally, the article explores the significance of policy interventions, resource allocation, and infrastructural enhancements to address the distinctive needs of vulnerable populations. In conclusion, this article underscores the imperative of acknowledging and rectifying the disproportionate impacts of climate change on marginalized groups within urban environments. By centering its focus on social equity and climate justice in urban contexts, it provides valuable insights and recommendations that can guide policymakers, urban planners, and community leaders in formulating effective strategies to alleviate the adverse effects of climate change and promote a more equitable and resilient future for all.
