چکیده مقاله:

Extended higher order sandwich panel theory (EHSAPT) is used to simulate the dynamic behavior and generated stresses of a sandwich beam during a low-velocity impact. In conventional higher order theory (HSAPT), the effect of longitudinal stress in the core is neglected. However, EHSAPT takes into account this stress component and is useful to accurately predict the induced stresses. In this study, the first order shear deformation is applied to the facesheets to improve the accuracy of the presented model and Rayleigh-Ritz method with trigonometric functions is used to solve the obtained equations. The proposed approach is capable of modeling different boundary conditions. Also, a parametric study is performed to examine the effect of related parameters such as boundary conditions, facesheets’ thickness, core’s height and stiffness. Finally, the shear and normal stresses are calculated and considerable longitudinal and transverse normal stresses are predicted that implies on the advantages of using extended higher order theory.
