In order to determine the adaptation and evaluation of salt tolerance in 40 bread wheat lines/varietis in two experimental field station Ahwaz and Zabol, for one cropping season (2005-06) were conducted in salt soil condition, using Alpha Latis design with two replication. Based on stability parameters statistic as total mean grain yield, mean yield ranked, standard error (SDR), yield index ratio (YIR) and desired agronomic characteristic/lines were used in selection of superior lines. Results indicated that via total mean grain yield lines No. 5, 6, 10, 13, 15, 18, 20, 21, 22, 25, 27, 32, 33, 37 and 39 with 5119, 4412, 3943, 5184, 4815, 4523, 3989, 4606, 4083, 5069, 4257, 4819, 4380, 4000 and 5233 kg/ha and YIR in salt stress condition with 131, 113, 101, 133, 124, 116, 102, 118, 105, 96, 110, 124, 112, 103 and 134 and SDR with 5.6, 12.1. 14, 5.6, 15.5, 6.3, 11.3, 4.2, 10.6, 5.5, 15.5, 2.8, 14.8, 25.4 and 8.4 repectively,showed wide adaptation in salt stress tolerance, higher mean grain yield, higher desired of YIR, and superior yiels stabilityl and desired agronomic traits were selected. Fifteen lines based the above criteion were selected to be studied in the Elite Regional Yield trial salt stress (ERWYT-SALT ZONE) in southern warm and dry zones.
