چکیده طرح پژوهشی:

In order to increased yield, improved storage quality and marketable of Behbahan local onion an experiment was conducted for five years (2000-2004) at Behbahan Agriculture Research station. In the first year 500 bulbs of two dominant morphotypes (White and red) of local Behbahan Onion was selected and stored. In the second year 100 bulbs of each morphotype were planted when flowering occured umbles were isolated by cloth bags. in the third year selfed seed from each bulb was planted and 57 lines was selected. In the fourth year bulbs of 75 selected line were planted for second selfing and in the fifth year 29 lines was selected. The results showed that inbreeding decreased growth rate of projeny lines. Therefore germination percent, seedling survival perecent, leaf height, bulb mean weight, blub size storage and quality of projeny lines decreased as compared with source lines but bolting rate and double bulb percent of projeny lines decreased due to selection.
