In order to identify high yielding, adaptable and tolerent to biotic and abiotic stresses for dry land areas of IRAN, this survey was conducted on 376 international barley segregation populations in gachsaran and moghan agricultural rainfed research station at 2003-2004 growing year. Each population segregation was planted in 6 rows with 4.37 meters length and 17.5 centemeters spacing from each other systimatically and without any replication via seed planting devices (Winter Stiger). During growing season, data were collected from some agronomical and morpho-physiological traits such as early vigor, DHA, DMA (early maturity in dry-land areas is very important character), grain yield, TKW, reaction to diseases such as barley dwarf viruses, SCA, PM, HG and other diseases. In this study the method of modified bulk- pedigree which is used commonly in research institutes of IRAN, was performed. As a results in this study generally 44 and 33 segregation population from Gachsaran and Moghan respectively were selected which posses good agronomical traits in comparing with national check (Izeh) for the more suspection in the next year.
