چکیده مقاله:
Accumulative Roll Bonding (ARB) was found to be an effective method to strengthen lightweight5083 aluminum alloy when performing at ambient temperature or 200 ˚C. The present work of ARBat 400 ˚C on this alloy was performed to investigate the strengthening effect of this method as thebehaviour of the alloy in response to severe plastic deformation at high temperatures. ARB wasconducted up to seven cycles with preheating at 400 ˚C, and microstructures, hardnesses and tensileproperties of the sheets were studied. It was found out that up to the fourth cycle dynamicrecrystallization and in subsequent cycles dynamic recovery were the governing mechanisms.Although grain refinement was observed with increasing the number of cycles, performing ARB at400 ˚C provides less strengthening effect in comparison to ARB at lower temperatures.
