Evaluation of Personality Disorders in People with Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS)

Objective: The purpose of this study was to review personality disorders in people with AIDS from various internal and external sources in the past few years. Research method: The method of the present study was review-library. Thus, the keywords of personality disorders, acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS), mental illnesses, search engines of the Persian article bank include scientific information database (SID), Noormags, Magiran and Civilica and foreign articles bank including Google Scholar, PubMed, Springer, Science Direct and Scopus was searched between ۲۰۰۰ and ۲۰۲۱, and selected articles were selected for this study. Results: The research findings indicate the numerous studies of domestic and foreign researchers on the subject of personality disorders. The results showed that personality disorders, especially borderline and antisocial personality disorder, are common personality disorders in people with AIDS. Conclusion: Personality disorders are among the common mental illnesses in people with AIDS that should be considered and addressed.
