چکیده مقاله:

In many combustion applications, the bluff-body stabilizes the premixed flame and increases efficiency. In the present experimental study, the aim is to investigate the combustion parameters to improve the geometry of High Swirl Burners (HSB) and achieve the mentioned goals. An HSB featuring three bluff-bodies of varying geometry was designed and manufactured on the laboratory scale, with dimensions and power adequate to the laboratory equipment. Then, combustion parameters, including flame temperature distribution, bluff-body temperature, flame edge detection, and sizes, were calculated and measured. At a distance twice the burner radius (۲Rb), the disc-formed bluff-body has a flame with higher temperature values. As it moves away from the burner surface, the flame output from the burner, which has the cone ۸۰° bluff-body, has higher temperature values. Also, the cone ۸۰° bluff-body temperature decreases compared to the cone ۱۳۰° bluff-body, and the disk decreases, respectively, which increases the lifespan. In general, considering the combustion parameters, the burner featuring cone ۸۰° bluff-body of varying geometry is superior to the other two geometries because the flame blow-off later and the burner featuring the cone ۱۳۰° bluff-body has the best flame dimensions.
