چکیده مقاله:

There are limited studies in Malaysia on the effects of socio‐demographic, cultural, andprominent five personality traits on waste prevention behaviors (WPBs). Study conductedto determine the relationship between those traits, and WPBs among the Chinesecommunity in Sepang district, Selangor state. Malaysia consists of three ethniccommunities, namely, Malays, Chinese, and Indians. The Chinese lead most of the proenvironmentalmovements in Malaysia, which need to be scientifically substantiated. Results were obtained through a questionnaire distributed randomly to ۴۳۱ Chineserespondents. Gratifying our assumption, ۶۹.۶% of respondents possessed a decentmedium‐level WPBs, and ۱۲.۸% had a high level of WPB. Interestingly, gender, educationlevel, and income influenced WPBs. Linear regression analysis revealed that cultural traitsrather than well‐known prominent five personality traits significantly impacted on WPBsin this population.
