چکیده مقاله:

Marked by their divergence from political standards and center of recognition, the characters of Hurston’s “Sweat,” are committed to slave morality. Their privation withers their will to power and fills them with what Nietzsche and Scheler dub as ressentiment. The protagonist of “Sweat” whose vengeance is initially hindered, this paper aims to divulge, flees the confinement of her assigned impotence and ressentiment to exact her revenge.
