چکیده مقاله:
Agriculture is one of the most important economic sectors in Iran, and this is while the lack of water is the main factor limiting the production of agricultural and food products. Due to the non-uniformity of rainfall in terms of time and place and Iran's location in the arid and semi-arid region of the world, the issue of using water resources becomes important. The increase in population followed by the need to eat more makes agriculture the largest water consumer in the country, so that about ۹۳.۲% of the country's water is spent in the agricultural sector. The loss of agricultural products causes a significant part of agricultural products to be removed from the cycle of production and consumption. In the context of using water resources and reducing its waste and losses, it can refer to reducing water losses through reducing the consumption of agricultural products. The waste of agricultural products is acceptable. The importation of some agricultural products means that in fact water has entered the country in a virtual form. This is a new issue that needs a lot of research to choose it as a saving strategy and pressure on the country's water resources, and it can be raised as an option in the big discussions of the country's water resources .
