چکیده مقاله:

Background: Lung cancer is characterized by the uncontrolled growth of cells in the lung tissue. The purpose of the present study was to investigate the expression of MUC۱ mRNA and CK۱۹ mRNA biomarkers in patients with non-small-cell lung carcinoma (NSCLC). Materials and Methods: In this case-control research, thirty samples of cancer blood, thirty samples of cancer tissue, and the same number of healthy samples were prepared. Samples were collected and RNA was extracted, then cDNA was made and gene expression was measured using Real-Time PCR. Results: Among non-small-cell lung carcinoma patients, the MUC۱ mRNA marker was positive for ۱۹ individuals while in the healthy group, it was reported positive in ۵ out of ۳۰ individuals. In the patients' group, the CK۱۹ mRNA marker was positive for ۱۶ individuals while in the healthy group, in ۶ out of ۳۰ individuals. Conclusion: The MUC۱ mRNA and CK۱۹ mRNA as lung cancer tumor markers were reliable and sensitive; however, further studies are recommended.
