In the contemporary world of nursing and midwifery, ethical education has been proposed as a vital aspect of professional and specialized development in these fields. The purpose of this article is a comprehensive review of ethical education models in specialized nursing and midwifery programs, analyzing the types of ethical models and evaluating their effectiveness. This review attempts to clarify the role of ethics education in student development and enhancing patient care in clinical and research settings in nursing and midwifery. It also seeks to draw future perspectives in this field. Given the complex ethical concepts and diverse ethical challenges that emerge in these professions, this review attempts to contribute to the ongoing discourse on the importance of ethics education. By examining historical perspectives, theoretical frameworks, contemporary models, and the impact of ethics education on educational and patient outcomes, this article provides valuable insights for educators, clinicians, and policy makers. It addresses the need to seamlessly integrate ethics into nursing and midwifery curricula, enhance faculty competency in ethics education, and anticipate emerging trends in this ever-evolving field. Finally, this review emphasizes the vital role of ethics education in shaping the ethical behavior of future nursing and midwifery professionals and improving the quality of healthcare delivery.
