Introduction: Critical Thinking indicates an individual'sinclination to critical thinking. Individual features are importantand influential elements in the maturation and development ofstudents' critical thinking. Purpose: The purpose of this study wasto describe the correlation between critical thinking and selfesteemamong Medical Sciences Students in ۲۰۱۸.Methods: In an analytical cross-sectional study, ۲۵۲ medicalstudents were selected through stratified random samplingmethod among "blinded for peer review" University of MedicalSciences in ۲۰۱۸. The instrument for data collection was aquestionnaire comprising ۳ parts: demographic data, CaliforniaCritical thinking Inventory, and Cooper Smith Self-EsteemInventory. The results were analyzed by SPSS-۲۰ descriptive statistics, Pearson Correlation Coefficient, and Chi-Square.Results: The average score of students' self-esteem has been۳۶.۵۷ ۶.۲۲and a strong level. The average score of students' critical thinkinghas been ۳۵۵.۳۹±۲۵.۴۲ and at high level. There was asignificantly positive correlation between critical thinking andself-esteem (r=۰.۵۶۲, P<۰.۰۰۱). The obtained results showedthat those who score higher on the self-esteem are higherconfident about being able to make critical thinking in areascommon to students.Conclusion: It seems that critical thinking, like otherpsychological variables, is tempted by social factors and socialenvironment plays a role in promoting or undermining it. Thus,similar studies are urged to look into the factors affecting criticalthinking in Medical Sciences Students
