چکیده مقاله:

The nowadays popular approach, mindfulness is described as directing attention to momentary experiences with acceptance and a non-judgmental attitude. Mindfulness approach has been seen in use of many areas of life and science. Specifically, the use of mindfulness-based treatment methods for a variety of psychological, somatic, and interpersonal problems has increased dramatically in the last ۳۰ years. All mindfulness-based therapies include the practice of contemplation which is called meditation in some culture. The source of mindfulness is believed to come from Buddhism, while Islamic thought has not been present in this development despite the similarities in philosophy and a growing need for mental health support among Muslim populations throughout the world. In this context, Sufism and especially Rumi’s teachings seem to be promising both in terms of research on consciousness and in terms of culturally sensitive methods of healing. In this line, the aim of this talk is to highlight the commonality of mindfulness-based therapies and Rumi’s religious philosophy.
