چکیده مقاله:

Introduction: Children's social development and empathy, regardless of family size, are influenced by various factors, including parenting styles, social environment, and individual temperament. Objective: The present study compared children's social development and empathy in single-child and multi-child families. Methods: This study encompasses elementary school children aged ۹ to ۱۲, irrespective of their geographical location. The sample was randomly chosen and comprised ۱۰۰ children, with an equal distribution of girls and boys. Within this group, ۷۵ come from households with multiple children, while the remaining ۲۵ are only children. Results: The results showed that there is no significant difference in the social development of children from multi-child families and children from single-child families (t=۰.۶۲۸, p>۰.۰۵), and there is also no significant difference in empathy between children from single-child families and multi-child families (t=۰.۶۵۳, p>۰.۰۵). Conclusion: The findings indicate no notable contrast between the social growth and empathy of kids from families with only one child and those with multiple children.
