چکیده مقاله:

The incidence of esophageal cancer is following a rising trend, whereas the associatedsurvival rate remains poor. This condition is highly associated with poor prognosis.Nonetheless, some of markers were found to be up regulated in esophageal cancer and wereconsidered as potential prognostic indicators. As a result, we have conducted a review toevaluate the prognostic value of biomarkers in three signaling pathways, which play majorroles in tumorigenesis and disease progression. To evaluate the efficacy of these markersand their potential use in clinical setting, more clinical investigation should be performed toconfirm the effect of these biomarkers in invasion and tumorigenesis. This review can beconsidered as a source of Biomarker evaluation, which can be a useful and valuable meansfor cancer prevention and diagnosis. Overall, biomarker analysis and clinical evaluation canlead to the introduction of novel biomarker panels for accurate prognosis, diagnosis andpatient follow-up in order to increase the overall survival rate.
