چکیده مقاله:

Irfan (mysticism) means recognition . Therefore, Solouk (spiritual journey) of mystics as well as the fundamentals of mysticism basically revolve around wisdom of God and how to reach the truth. Basically, this concept has, from the very emergence of sense of worship, has formed in human being and the followers of every religion, based on their own beliefs and doctrines, have attempted to recognize their god and introduce him to others. Reaching unity and annihilation of plurality in unity or faghr (poverty) and fana (annihilation) and nafy (negation) are highly important issues in mysticism and the relationship between kasrat (multiplicity) and wahdat (unity) is of the most complicated issues in wisdom and mysticism. In Attar's Mantegh-al-Teyr (The Conference of the Birds), each bird is the symbol of a group of mystics, in the guise of multiplicity and led by the hoopoe who is the secret of age and their guide, fly toward Simorgh who is in the guide of unity and the secret of the truth. Most of them die on the way to the destination and thirty wretched birds reach the dwelling place of Simorgh. There, they find out that they are thirty aspirant birds and their object is Simorgh; they understand that the truth of aspirants and object is nothing but one. This article has examined how multiplicity and unity have been manifested and displayed in this invaluable book. Mantegh-al-Teyr seems to explain the highest experiences related to spiritual journey, salek (seeker) going through phases of mysticism enthusiastically and finally arriving where he sees nothing but unity and all multiplicities are lost in unity as shadows disappear in the light of the sun.
